Been in Dubai for 6 months now working at Dubai Metro. The longest fully automated driverless train in the world as they describe it. It opened 9.9.09, I was already in Dubai but still was undergoing trainings so I wasnt able to witness how it went on the first day. It wowed the crowd as for the news that Ive read. I came from a different line of work and all seems new to me honestly. As for the experience so far, it has been a tough long run. Went on a tedious trainings. From the basics of cultural diversity, to safety communications, parts and usages and the like. The hardest of these were First Responder, Procedure and Instructions and Incident Management. Went to almost 30 trainings now ranging from a few hours a day to 15 days course.

Right now, metro has 11 operational stations as follows. Rashidiya, Terminal 3, DCC, Rigga, Union, KBW, Jaffiliya, Financial, Khalifa, MOE and Nakheel. Most of the RED line stations are still close. The GREEN line still under construction. Sept 17, '09 was my deployment day to open station. Was at Airport Terminal 3 followed by Rashidiya for abt a month. then I was transfered to UNION, my permanent station. Has been borrowed by Rigga, Financial and Nakheel.

Tomorrow I will have another training at Dubai Mall station. I love going on training for it feels like a day off the usual tiry day at the station. At the start of the shift, I am full of energy which slowly sucked by the hustle and bustle of the busy station, ending up so worn out at the end of the shift.

Ill be having my leave break very soon. I cant think of anything right now but going home, seeing my mom, my sister and my baby. Miss them so so much!

Enough writing for now. Goal achieved, write till my eyes tires. Bed time. Kalas!
